EcoBugFREE the BedBug Eliminator

It’s back-to-school time, so BedBugs are NOT in the news

I often editorialize about “local” press and how they are predictable in their news coverage of BedBugs. The same is true of Lice, but maybe this time there really is news.

Hello, my tasty-human friends. I’m Mr BedBug, Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com and EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. I am a TV star on MrBedBug-TV on YouTube and Editor of the BedBug News Reports.com

There is new research showing that lice [ the other un-popular blood-sucker] are beginning to mutate and become immune to the common “pest-control” treatments. This is the troubling results from the work of Dr Kyong Yoon of Southern Illinois University. Yoon [and his colleagues] have been studing multiple populations of lice collected from professional “nit-pickers” across 30 states.

As a side note: WHO KNEW those careers existed !! “What do you want to be when you grow-up, Johnny?” Ooh,oOhh… I wanna be a NIT-PICKER !! Don’t we already have enough of those in Washington DC? LOL

Any-way. Dr Yoon’s work shows a population evolution that in-breeds resistance to the most commonly used pyrethroid treatments. [That’s the active ingredient in those hair-shampoos your kid’s schools and Dr’s offices suggest you buy/use.

SO… Why am I [the famous Mr BedBug ] blogging about Lice, instead of the latest BedBug Treatments? It’s because this is further evidence that the “same old” toxic pest control treatments are become limited in their effectiveness. I have posted over and over that BedBugs have long been generationally-evolving, becoming more and more immune to the ever-more toxic “sprays” that the traditional franchise pest control companies want to use. You’ve read many other […]

Retail BedBug products…. and consumer advice sites that support them

Hello My Tasty-Human Friends. I’m MrBedBug, Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com and EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. I am a TV star on MrBedBug-TV on YouTube and Editor of the BedBug News Reports.com

I was recently sent a link to a major manufacturer’s web site, where a writer ask a question [below], since the BedBugs didn’t DIE and the 1-800-talk-in-circles customer service rep offered no real help, [except to buy more product], They contacted me, seeking real help.

Here’s the original web posting on [famous brand name you know] web site.

Hello,
I bought the [brand-name] bed bug and flea spray and completely sprayed my couches with this stuff. After a few hours they seem to be coming out in full force, are moving very fast and don’t seem to be dying. I managed to drown 3 of them in a container with this spray, but the ones on my couch just seem very hyped up like it just made them mad.

Did I do something wrong or does it take longer than 5 hours for them to die?

ArizonaAge: 25 to 34 Gender: Female Level of expertise: Beginner Town:Phoenix,

The written response [before the call to 1-800-talk-in-circles was:

We do recommend waiting a day or so to evaluate the final results of a treatment. Please call us at 1-800-talk-in-circles, if you’re not seeing fewer Bed Bugs at that point and we’ll be happy to help you troubleshoot. Good Bye.

When I got this email, I had to call “Phoenix” because she included more info in the e-mail to me than appears of the web site, but info she shared with the [major-name-brand] company rep.

Here’s why I [*the Famous Mr BedBug] […]

Real advice: How to get rid of Bedbugs [Part 32]

We get a LOT of e-mail questions about BedBugs at BedBug News Reports.com. They usually start with: “What the hell can I do to get rid of these #%* BedBugs?”

Hello my tasty-human friends. I’m MrBedBug, Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com and EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. I am a TV star on MrBedBug-TV on YouTube and Editor of the BedBug News Reports.com

Our goal around here is to educate, so lets take today’s letter and see what we can learn. Like Kasey Kasem used to say, “This long-distance dedication comes to us from Connie in Columbus, Ohio”.

She writes:
Dear Mr BedBug,
“What can I do to get rid of these #%* BedBugs?”
I’ve paid pest control companies to come out (twice) and a heat treatment guy made big promises too. They all had me sign paperwork that I understand there are “no guarantees”, but the only thing guaranteed is that the BedBugs are back in my house.
My kid has BedBug bites down his leg, so he looks like he has the measles. I’m pregnant and worried about being around the toxic chemicals I just read about on your blog-thing.
What do I do?
Signed, Concerned in Columbus, Ohio.

Dear Concerned (Connie)
I’m [the famous] Mr BedBug, and I’m here to help. I’ve selected your letter to post as a teaching-example [ FYI- I’ve also sent Teresa a personal e-mail, to discuss her specifics further].

You are not alone. Every major city in OHIO is on the Top 50 Most BedBug Infested Cities list, and OHIO is the #1 State. Congratulations?

Lets take your letter apart, one item at a time.

First, Pest control […]

How do I know if I have Bedbugs? MrBedBug answers his e-mail

I saw a bug, but I’m not SURE if it was a Bedbug. Now I’m paranoid.

Hello my tasty-human friends. I’m MrBedBug, Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com and EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. I am a TV star on MrBedBug-TV on YouTube and Editor of the BedBug News Reports.com

I get LOTS of mail to MrBed@FLfresh.com Some of it is so instructive that I share it here, [without the personal details, that humans often “over-share”.] Let me take this example of a common e-mail I received… take it apart and go through –what you need to know about Bedbugs—one step and one comment at a time. [with inserted #reference points, because there is a lot to learn and some common myths that we need to talk about. Here we go:

Dear Mr BedBug,
If I saw one bed bug does that mean I should worry about an infestation? [#1] Yesterday at about four o’clock in the morning, as I was about to get into my freshly made bed, I saw a bed bug! [#2] Yep .it was a bed bug. I had a friend over and he took the bed bug, put it in a Ziploc bag and gave it to the doorman. [#3] I had a breakdown! I cannot deal with any kind of bugs. I had to take a tranquilizer to sleep and I slept in my recliner, in the living room for two nights [#4] and today we treated my entire house with diatomaceous earth and we steamed EVERYTHING! [#5] Pillows, mattress, box spring, chairs, night stand, etc. We put the double sided tape on the bed frame legs and […]

BedBugs here? Bedbugs there? Columbus is a “Top 50 Most BedBug Infested City”

BedBugs are a huge problem all across Ohio, and Columbus is leading the way. If you wonder “why” and “how” BedBugs could get into YOUR home….. here’s a tip. They take the COTA Bus !!!!

Hello my “Tasty-Human Friends”. I’m MrBedBug, Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com and EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. I am a TV star on MrBedBug-TV on YouTube and Editor of the BedBug News Reports.com

The BedbugNewsReports.com web pages are here to help you learn from the mistake of others…and there are LOTS of “mistake” to learn from here, in this WSYX / ABC 6 TV news report. You see BedBugs are hitch-hikers. They will cling to any fabric that smells like a tasty-human all-you-can-eat-buffet. COTA busses just help “my” Bedbug family move around the city…and we aren’t buying a bus-pass either. All of Ohio is on the “Top 50 Most Bedbug Infested Cities” list for 2015. Because BedBugs are so common in Columbus, [and Akron, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Canton, even Toledo joined the list this year], You should expect to find Bedbugs somewhere in your travels each day.

It’s easy for the TV reporters and newspaper writers to create “scandalous” headlines to create ratings, I KNOW, because I’m the star at
MrBedBugTV….on YouTube . Offering a solution to the problem of Bedbugs in Columbus is a bit more difficult [but I will try, below]. You see these news stories usually come in waves. As the chief editor of the BedBugNewsReports.com, I see these stories from a national level. I was always curious, until I found out the […]

BedBug Prevention Scams [part 3]

Some of the stuff people come up with to “Kill BedBugs” is just silly, but if you are not an entomologist [or a Celebrity-BedBug like me] you might not know you are wasting your money.

Hello, my tasty-human friends, I’m MrBedBug, Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com and EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. I am a TV star on MrBedBug-TV and Editor of the BedBug News Reports.com

The BedBug News Reports tracks all the [USA] media reports of BedBugs. We selectively post commentary about the best examples of stupid or “good job”/kudos because we hope you can learn from the mistakes [and a few successes] of others.

What we DO NOT do is post a lot of negative reviews about specific products [unless they pose a great danger or are officially identified by the USA govt as “frauds, bogus, or mis-leading products] We have found that you [our readers] don’t fully understand the amount of research and work we put into these pages, so if we start calling out one product or another it appears self-serving [since we have a product called EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator] Our research and product effectiveness speaks for itself, but anyone can post anything on the internet [and they DO], so we stick to our editorial of Press coverage and allow you to get an impression of our credibility.

One of the product we found in 2014 is actually worth mentioning, not because it kills BedBugs, but because we want one to play with. Guys love guns. Toy guns, real guns, video-game guns and now a fly-killing gun. This is the Bug-a-Salt rifle.

This looks SO fun, it makes me, Mr BedBug […]

BedBugs in the movie theater probably won’t help your “date night” romance.

The furniture co- IKEA and the CinemaPark Movie Theater company are testing a new movie theater concept, but I’m not sure it will “fly”.    As you see in this photo, the seats of the theater have been replaced with beds !?!

I’m General BedBug, Commanding Officer of the  BedBug Resistance Army  and “battle consultant” to FLfresh.com and , EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator.   You can follow my “war-room” briefings to see how the battles move from city to city.   I am @GeneralBedbug on Twitter and I do postings like this one on the BedBug News Reports.com

I’ll be the first to admit that we BedBugs don’t understand you humans.   BedBugs don’t spread disease and we only take a tiny blood-sucking meal, while you sleep  [we thought that would be the quietest, most convenient time of your busy day], yet you freak-out at the mere mention of our names.  [when you should really be worried about those disqusting cock-roaches and mosquitos, that really DO spread disease.]

With this in mind, WHY would you put BEDS in a dark theater and then share them with hundreds of tasty-human buffet opportunites.   Don’t get me wrong, as the Chief Commander of the BedBug Resistance Army, I am absolutely THRILLED with this opportunity to spread my “forces” into each and every new home.  It’s just curious that no one is mentioning the “strategic advantage” this gives my Bedbug Resistance Armies.   You see, movie theaters are already one of the best spots where I deploy my Bedbug “forces”.    A BedBug will cling to any fabric that smells like a human,  especially if it is dark and you tasty-humans are stationary for long periods of time.

BedBugs love to hide in furniture….not just […]

Morehead Mn is the latest place where BedBugs, Public Housing and “dumb” makes headlines.

If ever there was a classic news story about BedBugs and the poor response from a public housing administration officials the folks at KVLY-TV /KXJB-TV “Valley LIVE”, the NBC TV station in Moorhead Minnesota /Fargo/Grand Forks, North Dakota have it. We post a LOT of press coverage about BedBugs. We do it so YOU can learn from the mistakes of others…..
WoW ! Today we are going to learn a LOT.

I’m MrBedBug, Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com and EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. I am a TV star on MrBedBug-TV and Editor of the BedBug News Reports.com
As I always say, we don’t NOT post these articles to point-fingers or make fun of public officials. We only know what is reported [fully or not] by the local newspapers or TV stations. Our goal is to help you understand that BedBugs are different than ants, roaches, ticks, spiders, mosquitos and other household [or public nuisence] pests. Lets take this situation apart, one piece at a time and see what we can learn.

#1 > Moorhead Minnesota residents in the Sharp View Apartments aren’t too happy. Residents have captured and documented over 10 BedBugs.
If you have more than one resident with BedBug complaints, you need to plan for cleaning the infestation of the entire facility. City/Municipal Housing Directors HATE THIS, and don’t want to do it, because it is expensive, but when an infestion is so imbedded [no pun intended] that residents can “catch” BedBugs…There are a LOT OF BEDBUGS.

#2 > We are sorry that the lady missed Thanksgiving with her 100 year old grandmom. Public misunderstanding of BedBugs is common, but […]

If DDT killed BedBugs in the 30s, 40s and 50s, why can’t we bring it back to kill Bedbugs today?

The history of DDT has gotten worse, as the years go by. Its reputation is “colored” by what we now know were the hugely toxic effects left behind long after “treatment”, plus the residual effects. With that in mind, it is very interesting to see pockets of “demand” for the return of DDT, to help in the war against BedBugs.

I’m MrBedBug, Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com and EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. I am a TV star on MrBedBug-TV and the Editor of the BedBug News Reports .com

BedBugs are an ongoing nuisance for homeowners, landlords and businesses across the globe, but when municipal officials start to feel the heat to “do something” about BedBugs [usually in relation to some public / municipal owned housing] then the crazy “solutions” tend to pop up. I won’t name names today, because the level of stupidity to this idea is pretty high, [and memories are short, when politicians are involved], but lately this suggestion has been offered in several widely scattered municipalities. Usually the [logical?] argument is: “when DDT was legal, the Bedbugs were exterminated. Now it’s a “banned” substance and the Bedbugs are back, worse than ever”

While this is [sort of] true, what’s missing from the story is the concentrated efforts put forth by cities and municipalities to “win the war against BedBugs”. In the 1950s, a city would make a concentrated effort to eradicate BedBugs, and they were generally successful, not because of the DDT [although it did KILL BedBugs DEAD, along with everything else], but because of the coordinated effort.

The world of 2014, is very different. Look at the Ebola “scare” in the […]

BedBugs are “GUILTY” of infesting the Tulsa [Oklahoma] County Courthouse.

Here’s another example of my BedBug family following tasty-humans everywhere you go… even to the courthouse. I’m MrBedBug, Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com and EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. I am a TV star on MrBedBug-TV and here to help you learn how to avoid a BedBug infestation.

BedBug News Reports.com is here to help you learn from the mistakes of others, but it looks like the Tulsa County [Oklahoma] Courthouse staff has a plan in place. We like to report on the SUCCESS stories too, because we rarely see them in the news. You see, most people watching this news report by Morgan Downing of Fox23 KOKI TV in Tulsa Oklahoma would think “Oh NO, BedBugs.” But I think… “Congratulations Tulsa County Courthouse Staff, Good Job.” See the original TV News report here.

I only know what was included in the news report, but appearantly this wasn’t the first incidence of BedBugs in the Tulsa County Courthouse. The staff was trained to notice BedBugs, areas were “quarantined” and cleaning was immediately scheduled. That’s about as good as it gets in a public municipal building.

I’m MrBedBug and here’s what you should know. BedBugs are hitch-hikers. As in this story, a person walked into the Tulsa Couty Courthouse with a Bedbug “hitch-hiking” along for the ride. Most people falsely assume that BedBugs live near BEDS, but that’s not true at all. We think you humans are SO tasty. BedBugs are a growing problem in movie theaters, in airplanes and on taxi and bus seats, plus Dr Offices, hospitals, ALFs and, yes, even Courthouses. […]
