BedBugs in Public Housing

Idaho has Bedbugs. … and a plan to deal with it, spelled – Cooperation –

The BedbugNewsReports features lots of internet stupidity and I talk about the many many city/county agencies that are really doing ineffective things in “the Bedbug Wars”. Today is a great day in Twin Falls, Idaho, so we want to feature a positive news report, about a thoughtful effort being tried.

Hello my tasty-human friends. I’m Mr BedBug. While you are sleeping, your hot breath makes my antenna “tingle”. You are an irresistable all-I-can-eat buffet opportunity, for me [and my offspring] I’m the Chief Editor /SpokesBug for the BedBug News Reports.com. I am a TV star on MrBedBug-TV at YouTube and follow me on the Twitty-Toy – @MrBedBug.

KMVT/ KSVT TV-11 broadcast a news report that caught our eye. The Idaho Housing and Finance Association [in Twin Falls ] held a meeting for landlords. The topic of discussion was: the reality of BedBugs in Idaho , specifically in Twin Falls.

I like Program Admin Toni Shinn a whole bunch. She says in the KMVT TV-11 story that if you are human and have blood, Bedbugs will bite you. That’s as simple as it gets. [and why I always say: “Hello, My tasty-human friends” or refer to you as “Bedbug buffet opportunities”.

The solution to a specific Bedbug infestation is cooperation, between landlord and tenant. Cities on the Top 50 Most Bedbug infested Cities List should take note. Cooperation across an entire metro area, with landlord associations, metro bus systems, the movie theaters, public housing agencies and the local school districts could substantially reduce the BedBug infestation risk…… but they won’t […]

BedBugs in Tampa [Florida] senior apartments. Here’s what YOU can learn.

BedBugNewsReports.com was created so you could learn from the “BedBug infestation” mistakes [and a few success stories] of others. Today’s “star” in the BBNR, is right here in MY backyard.

Hello my tasty-human friends. I’m MrBedBug, Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com and EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. I am a TV star on MrBedBug-TV on YouTube and Editor of the BedBug News Reports.com

Tampa / St Petersburg is one big metro…[separated by a bridge] The FLfresh LLC corp HQ is in StPete and I’ve gotta tell you I’m not surprised that even here in Mr BedBug’s “hometown”, people don’t understand Bedbugs.
This is a GREAT story for the BedBugNewsReports.com, because there is a LOT to learn and good examples of mistakes all around. Lets jump right too it…..after you watch the video from WFLA Channel 8 / Mark Douglas.

WFLA News Channel 8

BedBugs are a growing problem EVERYWHERE, but there are enough stories about Bedbugs in rental properties, low-income housing, senior-subsidized apartments, Assisted-Living facilities, shelters and cheap motels to keep the cliché’ about BedBugs alive and well.

There is so much “B-S” [that is a polite way of saying BedBug-shit] in the common myths and folk-lore about BedBugs, that “I” [the famous MrBedBug] constantly rant about situations like this. Lets take a look at THIS situation, one item at a time.

The first thing to talk about is apartment managers. “I” [the famous MrBedBug] talk with big mega-property management companies ALL the time. The saddest stories come from struggling single home or duplex rental landlords, who have a hard time absorbing the cost of BedBug infestation treatment(s). BedBugs are a big […]

BedBugs in a New Jersey rooming house. Here’s what everyone can learn.

When we created the BedBugNewsReports.com it was so you could learn from the mistakes [and a few success stories] of others. Today’s headline / story about Bedbugs in rental properties in Somerville New Jersey gives us LOTS to learn.

Hello my tasty-human friends. I’m MrBedBug, Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com and EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. I am a TV star on MrBedBug-TV on YouTube and Editor of the BedBug News Reports.com

BedBugs are a growing problem EVERYWHERE, but there are enough stories about Bedbugs in rental properties, low-income housing, shelters and cheap motels to keep the cliché’ about Bedbugs alive and well. Much of the myth and folk-lore, that “I” [the famous MrBedbug] rant about comes from situations like this. Lets take a look at THIS news item from “mycentraljersey.com” and the Gannet News Co.

The first thing we find is an old house, converted to a rooming house, renting individual rooms. Just like a hotel or motel, this is the perfect breeding ground for BedBugs in New Jersey, or elsewhere, because of the transient population.

BedBugs are hitchhikers. They cling to any fabric that smells like a tasty-human all-you-can-eat buffet. Bedbugs don’t like “poor” people. They like people who a mobile, moving from place to place. Once an infestation starts, the more potential transportation-options that interact with those Bedbugs, the greater the distribution across a rooming house, a hotel, a city of a State. Curious how it can effect YOU? Just ask the folks who live in any of the Top 50 Most BedBug Infested Cities.

The next thing we can learn from this story is: BedBugs are the […]

BedBugs in Houston – but NOT the largest infestations we’ve seen.

The BedBugNewsReports.com pages are full of stories like this one…about Bedbugs in Houston group home. The question that comes to mind: Are the landlords SO stupid [and un-caring] that they don’t know that sooner or later they will end up on the local news.

Hello my tasty-human friends. I’m MrBedBug, Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com and EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. I am a TV star on MrBedBug-TV on YouTube and Editor of the BedBug News Reports.com

Houston has BedBugs. It’s on the Top 50 Most BedBug Infested Cities list, but THIS is just un-called for. There is NO excuse for this. Landlords need to know:
A > a Bedbug infestation never “gets better” by ignoring it.
B > solving the problem “early” is better, easier, cheaper, faster than dealing with it “later”.
C > You don’t want to make family members mad enough to get your assisted Living facility or group-home on the local news.

Here is the news report by Keith Garvin of KPRC /TV2 News- Houston. There are several things we can learn about Bedbugs, but first, watch Kieth’s report.

As the Chief Editor of the BedBugNewsReports.com, I [the famous MrBedBug ] see lots of local TV news guys / gals standing outside a home, apartment complex or public housing facilities. They always arrive because someone “rat-finked” or snitched to the reporter about a juicy story. [A side issue is, as I have often stated, the “news consultants” these Network TV affiliates around the country hire to juice-up the ratings, always go for the shocking and disgusting. Top of that list is BedBugs. […]

New York Daily News has more BAD PR for Bedbugs in NYC, and this time it’s not even “our fault”.

There is more BAD PR for Bedbugs in NYC, and this time “we” aren’t even the biggest problem….but still get the “blame”. Is that fair?

Hello you tasty-humans, I’m MrBedBug, Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com and EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. I am a TV star on MrBedBug-TV and Editor of the BedBug News Reports.com

We report on news items about Bedbugs in public housing all the time, but today’s situation is different. The New York Daily News has a story today about the deplorable conditions for the temporary housing offered to families by the NYC Department of Homeless Services. Appearently the complaints got “loud enough” to get the attention of a politician [NY State Sen. Tony Avella] who found the conditions “deplorable”.

I agree. BedBugs don’t like filth or grime like ants, and roaches. We like a nice peaceful, warm place, with lots of health, well-feed humans. How are our all-you-can-eat-buffet opportunities supposed to feed the family a health meal without a kitchen or hot water. The only problem is: just as the families get a kitchen and hot water, the NY Department of Homeless Services comes in and kills all the Bedbugs.

Oh well, that’s the life of a Bedbug…. Bad PR, even when the problem is NOT our fault.

Satire is tough to do on the internet. We hope you “got” our humor. What you REALLY need to learn from this New York Daily News story about Bedbugs in the Homeless /shelter housing in NYC is: that BedBugs are a persistent problem everywhere. They are not an indicator […]

If you think the job of being MrBedbug is bad: try being the Housing Director for a City

A small news report “leaked out” today with very little coverage. This news story “pretended” to be about Bedbugs, but it’s REALLY about something else.

I’m MrBedBug, Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com and EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. I am a TV star on MrBedBug-TV and Editor of the BedBug News Reports.com

The BedBug News Reports are posted so that YOU can learn from the mistakes of OTHERS. Why repeat the same mistakes…..at least that was our [appearently questionable] logic at the time we “invented” the BBNR. We have learned you can never predict ALL the actions [and reactions] of a citizen public. Here is the latest example.

The Hagerstown [Maryland] Housing Authority is spending $100.000.oo [tax-payer] dollars/ year to fight BedBugs in public housing. It’s a battle that is hard to win, under the best of circumstances. Let me repeat, we never post these news items to make fun of or belittle “authorities”, who, [quite frankly] sometime deserve it, but there is more to the story.

WBOC TV-16 in Hagerstown is reporting that Executive Director Ted Shankle has been working to get rid of BedBugs in the agency’s 1,200 rental apartments for 4 years. When tenant will not cooperate with landlords any plans to kill a Bedbug infestation is doomed to failure.
You can read the tiny news story HERE
http://www.wboc.com/story/27528645/md-city-housing-agency-wages-4-year-bedbug-battle

WHY? [oh, why?] would someone NOT be interested in getting the BedBugs out of their life? Let me tell you. Early in the “life experiences” of [the now famous and legendary] Mr BedBug, I worked to help clean a BedBug infestation in a small public housing […]

Morehead Mn is the latest place where BedBugs, Public Housing and “dumb” makes headlines.

If ever there was a classic news story about BedBugs and the poor response from a public housing administration officials the folks at KVLY-TV /KXJB-TV “Valley LIVE”, the NBC TV station in Moorhead Minnesota /Fargo/Grand Forks, North Dakota have it. We post a LOT of press coverage about BedBugs. We do it so YOU can learn from the mistakes of others…..
WoW ! Today we are going to learn a LOT.

I’m MrBedBug, Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com and EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. I am a TV star on MrBedBug-TV and Editor of the BedBug News Reports.com
As I always say, we don’t NOT post these articles to point-fingers or make fun of public officials. We only know what is reported [fully or not] by the local newspapers or TV stations. Our goal is to help you understand that BedBugs are different than ants, roaches, ticks, spiders, mosquitos and other household [or public nuisence] pests. Lets take this situation apart, one piece at a time and see what we can learn.

#1 > Moorhead Minnesota residents in the Sharp View Apartments aren’t too happy. Residents have captured and documented over 10 BedBugs.
If you have more than one resident with BedBug complaints, you need to plan for cleaning the infestation of the entire facility. City/Municipal Housing Directors HATE THIS, and don’t want to do it, because it is expensive, but when an infestion is so imbedded [no pun intended] that residents can “catch” BedBugs…There are a LOT OF BEDBUGS.

#2 > We are sorry that the lady missed Thanksgiving with her 100 year old grandmom. Public misunderstanding of BedBugs is common, but […]

BedBugs are expensive to exterminate, especially for charity shelter housing.

The BedBugNewsReports.com pages are here, so you can learn from the mistakes of others and this new story from Chico California is a sad example. It’s just that latest in a long line of charity housing / shelters with BedBugs that are making changes, in attempts to win the BedBug Wars.

I’m General BedBug, Commanding Officer of the BedBug Resistance Army and “battle consultant” to FLfresh.com and , EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. You can follow my “war-room” briefings to see how the battles move from city to city. I am @GeneralBedbug on the Twitty-Toy and I do postings like this one on MrBedBug’s YouTube Account @ MrBedbug TV.

Lets see what “we” can learn from the decisions and actions of the Torres Shelter.

They are on the front lines of the Bedbug Wars, not because of the low-income or homeless population they serve, but because BedBugs are hitch-hikers. They cling to any fabric that smells like a “tasty-human” all-you-can-eat-buffet. The sad fact is the transient population all across the country are at high risk for Bedbug infestation, because they have no stable home-base.

Most homeowners and apartment renters have some security, that if they “protect” the home-base, that they will have stability. That’s not true with transient populations, who return time after time to the same locations, to come into contact with Bedbugs over and over.

What we can learn here is that awareness and the inspection program has greatly reduced to likelihood of a Bedbug infestation returning to the shelter property. These very same awareness steps can be done by every homeowner. Your kids […]
