Tampa / St Petersburg is one big metro…[separated by a bridge] The FLfresh LLC corp HQ is in StPete and I’ve gotta tell you I’m not surprised that even here in Mr BedBug’s “hometown”, people don’t understand Bedbugs.
This is a GREAT story for the BedBugNewsReports.com, because there is a LOT to learn and good examples of mistakes all around. Lets jump right too it…..after you watch the video from WFLA Channel 8 / Mark Douglas.

WFLA News Channel 8

BedBugs are a growing problem EVERYWHERE, but there are enough stories about Bedbugs in rental properties, low-income housing, senior-subsidized apartments, Assisted-Living facilities, shelters and cheap motels to keep the cliché’ about BedBugs alive and well.

There is so much “B-S” [that is a polite way of saying BedBug-shit] in the common myths and folk-lore about BedBugs, that “I” [the famous MrBedBug] constantly rant about situations like this. Lets take a look at THIS situation, one item at a time.

The first thing to talk about is apartment managers. “I” [the famous MrBedBug] talk with big mega-property management companies ALL the time. The saddest stories come from struggling single home or duplex rental landlords, who have a hard time absorbing the cost of BedBug infestation treatment(s). BedBugs are a big […]

BedBugs in the Miami Library, close the doors for 4 days.

We see lots of stories about Bedbugs in the Library… it is BedBugs in the Miami Library this time. It shouldn’t be a surprise though. Bedbugs LOVE to snuggle up to smart tasty-humans.

I’m MrBedBug, Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com and EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. I am a TV star on MrBedBug-TV and Editor of the BedBug News Reports.com

There is a lesson to be learned from this WFOR-TV/WBFS-TV CBS-Miami TV news report, and the lesson is NOT that Bedbugs are found in the Ethel Gordon library in Oakland Park / Miami. Nope, the real lesson here is that BedBugs can be found ANYWHERE that you tasty-humans gather. When you leave any public area, there is a [admittedly small] chance that you could have picked up a hitch-hiker.

That’s how BedBugs move and grow their communities. They will cling to any fabric that smells like a human, then hide and wait for a ride to a spot where they can get an all-you-can-eat-buffet of YOU !!

What do you do to solve this problem?
[because remember someone was in the Library the day BEFORE it was closed too]

Awareness is key. BedBugs are creatures of habit. Once you know how BedBugs move and travel you can gauge your risk in each situation. BedBugs are unlike ants, roaches and other insects. They are not interested in filth or grime, so a “dirty” business is NOT an indicator. Bedbugs only feed on tasty-humans. The cleanest restaurants, the newest movie theater, [and sadly] any business that was cleaned of a Bedbug infestation YESTERDAY, [including the Ethel Gordon library in Oakland […]

Who is the creepiest BUG at Halloween? It’s not the Bedbug

Who is the creepiest BUG at Halloween? It’s not the Bedbug
I’m MrBedBed, the Chief Spokes-Bug for FLfresh LLC, the national distributor of EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator. Because I’m a celebrity-bug, I get notes, questions and e-mails about my BedBug family anytime we pop-up in the news.

Today the Fort Myers News-Press has an expose’ on BUGS. Which one is the creepiest? Just in time for Halloween, they are throwing some “hate” my way. As I often say on the pages of BedBug News Reports.com, we BedBugs just want to be your friend. BedBugs do NOT spread disease [it’s true!! Look it up]. We just want a tiny, tasty meal. Unlike other household pest, we don’t like grime and filth any more than you do. BTW,The same can’t be said for those disqusting cockroaches. Those guys are just gross.
So the good news is my Bedbug community isn’t the #1 most scary bug, but being #2 isn’t helping in my PR campaign. Thanks Fort Myers News-Press !!

Who were the scary bugs?
#1 is the Brown Recluse Spider. This guy is just no fun at a party. He’s sneaky, hiding in dark places and biting anyone who disturbs him. The bite [like a vampire] injects a venom that starts eating tissue and causes a huge puss-filled bump the size of a quarter. That will get your attention. I’m curious though. If teenage human girls like Vampires on TV and in movies, why aren’t they HOT for BRS?

#3 and #4 are bad guys too. The Flesh Flies have a […]

Can BedBugs in Miami bite your pets?

I am Mr BedBug [Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com] and the Editor for BedBug News Reports.com. We created this website so you can learn from the mistakes of others. There is a LOT of misinformation and advice that is just plain wrong, on the internet. If you learn the facts about BedBugs in Miami, you can avoid an embarrassing [and possibly costly] BedBug infestation.

BedBugs are hitch-hikers. “We” follow you “tasty-humans”, everywhere you go. One of the less often reported modes of transportation for a BedBug is a pet. While human blood is the primary meal source for a BedBug in Miami, they will cling to pets, pet toys, car carriers and that -oh-so-cute pet clothing. BedBugs can smell “tasty-humans” on animals too.

This CBS4 TV Miami report touches on the subject of BedBugs on your pets, but doesn’t go far enough. Remember, pet carriers are commonly placed on the carpets in airports, next to furniture in friend’s homes, and in common areas of offices, movie theaters and airplanes/rental cars or taxis. Because you interact with your pet and it’s toys/belongings as much as they do, your scent is there as well. Once BedBugs are into your home or apartment/condo in Miami, they will begin a new infestation and come find you, for a “midnight snack”. The best “BedBug Treatment” in Miami is to not bring them home. Bedbug spray is a good idea [Read about EcoBugFREE, the BedBug Eliminator, below], but awarenes and knowledge is a greater deterent.

Top 50 Most BedBug Infested Cities in the USA

There is a scene in the Steve Martin comedy movie [called “The Jerk”] inwhich the character [Navin R. Johnson] is overly-excited by the arrival of the new phonebook. He thinks he is “somebody”, because his name is in print. The old saying, “any publicity is good publicity” does NOT always apply….. like when the new annual “Top 50 Most BedBug Infested Cities in the USA” list is published.

Contrary to what “Navin” believes [“This is the kind of spontaneous publicity that “makes people”] most Mayors, Chambers of Commerce and City Health Departments would rather NOT be recognized for the inglorious achievement of being on the list, but there they are. Both Orkin and Terminex play this game with PR/news releases as a way to hype the franchise pest control services they sell. The list are not really very scientific, but actually based of the number of service calls received in each city. This introduces reporting variables that have nothing to do with the level of BedBug infestations, but lets allow them to have their “fun” at the expensive of Municipal reputation all across the USA.

Here is the Top 50 Most Bed Bug Infested Cities List [per the newest Orkin press release.]

1. Chicago Il (moving up +1 spot to be the New #1, like Casey Kasum used to say)
2. Detroit MI (up +1)
3. Los Angeles Calif (up +2)
4. Denver Colo (holding steady at #4)
5. Cincinnati Ohio (down the list -4 places, but everyone else in Ohio is “catching-up” fast. )
6. Columbus, Ohio (still ranked #6, but workin’ hard to break that Top 5 goal.) […]

BedBugs in Orlando create “mickey-mouse” drama for locals AND visitors

I am Mr BedBug, [the Chief SpokesBug for FLfresh.com] We created BedBug News Reports, so YOU can learn from the mistakes of others. BedBugs in Orlando is a serious problem. It’s not just an issue for the hotel/motel and tourism businesses. Bedbugs are hitch-hikers, they move around, looking for a “tasty-human” meal. If you’re a “local” in any tourism destination, like Orlando or Daytona, Miami, Clearwater Beach and Naples, the economic impact of tourist Dollars is important. What you may NOT know is: BedBugs in Orlando can infest YOUR home too.

Once a city is on the “Top 100 Most BedBug Infested Cities” list, [as reported by the Orlando Business Journal] the likelyhood of bringing BedBugs into your home goes why up. Why? Because BedBugs don’t descriminate. They will cling to any fabric that smells like a “tasty-human”. You may be a local, but those tourist visit the same movie theaters, hospitals, restaurants and theme parks you do. The infestation of BedBugs in Orlando is well-involved. That really means you are more likely to get a “local” BedBug, not a “tourist” BedBug.

The most common way to create a BedBug infestation in your home, is to bring them in, from work, school, church, or a retail location like a restaurant or movie theater, not from a “BedBug motel”. Most people don’t relize that BedBugs have noting to do with your bed and very little to go with “dirty” or poor. I am Mr BedBug. As editor of the BedBug News Reports, I see all the news […]
